CAS and its Implementation

I am sure most of us are aware of CAS (Conditional Access System), where people are urged to buy a STB(Set to Box) to view the selected pay channels they want to view. The hardest reality of this system is that it was implemented in Chennai last September and it is still under trial. I dont know wheather it is a hit or a flop. But either way, the trial period should be over by now. So the Government should have enough statistics to prove either the success or the failiure of this new system. Insted, the system is being extended and extended and.... I am one of those eager chennaiite waiting for the removal of this system or on the other side, implementation of the same all over India. The real thrill in this trial comes when there was a situation of implementing this in the northern metros. Since most of the Hindi channels are pay channels, this was not possible to be implemented due to public support. Hmmm so does that mean the Government treats people from different ...

The toughest week I ever had

This was one of the toughest if not the toughest week I ever had in my working life. I couldnt even attend a marriage reception of my collegue. It was too tough for a non-techie like to live upto the expectation of the tough techies of the software industry. Hmmm life is like that it seems. I was not at all enjoying this week. Well as far as I saw it, I took it as the harder way of enjoying life. I would love to explain what problems I faced in my work area, but I am not supposed to discuss those. I heard some 3 songs from "7/G Rainbow Colony". All three were really good. Seems Yuwan Shankar Raja reserves some beautiful tunes especially for Selvaraghavan films. Something similar to what ARR does for Manirathnam. I also saw the trailer of the same. Seems the film will be in the lines of "Kaathal Konden". Expecting the release of the same.

Watched BAASHA today

It was indeed a great time i had watching the film BAASHA on sun tv. I am not sure how much times i watched the movie. But each time I watch it, its as though I watch it the first time. Really good movie in which my "thalaivar" lived and not acted. All the punch dialogues of the film are really cool and useful for the life. So I can proudly say that I didnt waste this sunday evening ;-). Got some hectic testing works to do from tomorrow. So I am getting ready for the same. A very good inspirational movie to see before starting any work. I remember watching the same film in our 5th semester at the time when K tv was started. Venki and sandy, remember watching the film in the home next to yours as uncle was out of station? It was study leave for us. In the name of group studies, we escaped from our house and watched that film till 11:30. After the film was over, we did a "post mortem" on the same and then what else? We went to sleep. We never touched t...

Happy Birthday Sunny

Machi Sundar... many more happy returns of the day. We had a great party today. Thanks for the treat buddy. I enjoyed it a lot. With his influence, i also got a chance to visit the "ANANTHA VIGATAN" press today. It was a really cool experience. The way they make their weekly to be printed and distributed allover the world makes it even more amazing. I agree that there are even better weeklies famous in this world. But it was my first experience to see a press. Oh man, it seems they produce about 1 lakh copies of the weekly per day. We also went to "THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW" the movie. We were struggling for the past 2 weeks to see that, but couldnt get the tickets. Finally it was today that we had a chance. Too cool boy. Really nice. Seems it is a weekend of party for me. I had a "PROJECT" party with my collegues yesterday. Had a full fun in the friday evening. Sometimes i feel proud that my motto "Life is to Enjoy" is always right f...

Radio Mania

Yup, Radio has regained its fans yet again thanks to some of the private FMs that have started in the last 1 year or so. Well i was one of those radio fans until we gave cable TV connections to home (it was in 7th STD). Being a Tamilan, I used to her "VIVITH BHARATHI" station and "CEYLON" station more than anything else. These two stations are the one that provide variety of songs those days (not sure about now. any updates guys?). Those ads that come in the radio are still popular and are even played now in the FMs that have come up. Especially my favourite ones are GOPAL "PALPODI"(toothpowder), LIFEBUOY(i even heard ringtone of this ad in my collegue's mobile) and VICCO VAJRADHANTHI. Especially the VICCO product, i never ever heard of them changing their way of advertising. But still its a big hit. These three ads remind me of my BOSS' words "Standards are Standards, U can never Change them". So are these ads standards of the Radio...
