Declining TV standards

I watched yesterday's cricket match in Sahara One for the first time as I didnt know that it was also telecasting the match. Before watching I said to myself "He is a private channel and wouldnt cut the cricket as DD does". But on the contrary it was other way around. He is cutting both the first and the last ball of an over. Moreover when a four is hit of the last ball of an over, we didnt know whether it was a four or a two. To add to the woes, whenever wicket falls, the next 2 deliveries are guaranteed to be not shown.

When looking at all these, Doordarshan is better off in many ways. Although he is ad prone, he is ready to cut the ad and take us to the first delivery of an over which is n times better than Sahara One. Gone are the days where ESPN and STAR sports were telecasting the Indian matches. They are the real pros and they still are. I remember last they telecasted the Indian tour of Australia which was done excellently. If only giving high money to BCCI is the motto and grabbing the rights is the way, then we are going to have this night mare for very long time. Quality telecast of good matches is more important than just getting the name of telecasting it.

If that was the case in cricket, here comes 2 television channels which reply to each other political party's questions in a programme so called as NEWS. For quite sometime, I didnt knew that for watching tamil news, you must first watch Jaya TV at 7:30 PM followed by Sun TV at 8:00 PM. If you try to watch only one News bulletin, you might find yourself left behind in some of the information they give. It is actually a reply to the questions raised by the other TV. Thank God we have some option called NDTV and CNN-IBN else it would be pathetic to watch the NEWS.

Qualification

As promised in my last blog, i discuss on the qualification needed for software industry in the present world. I disclose at this point of time that it is purely my vision on the industry and nothing to do with pointing against other's opinions. Most of the companies while recruiting freshers only prefer ENGINEERING graduates to any other arts or science grads. I just had to do some sort of analysis before i blogged about it and indeed did some ground work for the same. I contacted some of my college and school friends who are now working in various MNCs as software engineers/programmers/analysts etc... Sunny, My friend, as i said in my previous blog is a Math grad. When a Software company calls for freshers, it is a clear point that they mention "Candidates with excellent academic records and aptitude and attidue are needed". But they still stick to the point that they need only ENGG grads for those posts. If at all they need other grads, they specify the...

Thiruppachi!!!!

Yesterday night show I went to Thiruppachi. Hmmm atleast this time around i didnt feel bored. Definitely this film is better than MADHURA. Hats off to the director for trying something new... oops not the story, but i meant the screenplay. A typical film for Vijay fans. Although i am not a Vijay fan, I admire him. Lots of senti in the film. Looks like ladies will like it for sure. Nothing can come near my God's next movie.... "Chandramukhi".

A Weekend to remember

It was indeed a long weekend for me and a weekend to remember for the rest of my life. I went on a vacation (or rather an extended picnic) to Vizag. My uncle called up my family to join in his house warming and thats all the reason I needed to enjoy a fabulous weekend in and around Vizag. Here are my visits on a daily basis from saturday to Tuesday. Saturday: We went to a place called Simmachalam where Lord Narashimha is famous for, followed by another Sai Seer Mutt. Sunday: It was the house warming day. In the evening we went to Kailasha giri, where lord Shiva and Parvathi's statues are made of white stone and kept in an open place. It is a sort of hangout for the Vizagans and since it is on a hill top, we could have a view of whole Vizag city in the evening with lights. Really worth spending time there and get yourself relaxed. Monday: This was a full day trip planned to go for only 2 places. One is Arukku which is a Hill station (probably like Yercaud, not anywhere ...
