I found some time after successfully completing the biggest ambitions of my life till date. Yes, my parents were here with me in the Unites States of America for a full 5 week period (so little, but thats all they could manage happily). Looking back in time just 4 years back I never dreamt or even thought positively to make this happen.
Took them to 3 major places which is the face of US for rest of the world. NY, DC and Niagara were our primary target for visiting. Both of them were shocked to some extentent on the culture difference, but I would say they didnt get to see the "real America" which is more known on day to day life here.
2 weeks after his arrival, my Dad felt bored and started talking about the date of departure. Weekends were their only happy days as I was around. Constant complaints like "oru paal vaanganumnaa kooda unnai nambi okkanthurukkom da. Enna da indpendent life nu peethikara? etho periya naadu nu solraan. anaa car illathavan vaazhave koodathunu rule podaatha korai thaan. ellathukkum car venumnaa enna panrathu." He was almost ready to spit on face of the USA.
Plenty of interesting conversations and opinions. I am happy that they got to see my lifestyle and what I am up to here. This made sure to me that they wont keep worrying about me for some time. And it also gives answer to their constant question to me over phone "how do you manage things there". I am tired of explaining it every time for 2 years now :-)
Wanted to complete this blog with a phrase I usually tell to myself "Whats life without making your parents happy?"
