Sunny Days

This topic doesnt discuss about the weather condition in chennai nor do i have any intentions at this point of time to discuss about it. Then what else is this blog about? Its about introducing one of my friend who has cultivated in me the drive to become a software engineer in my life as a first step.

This might seem strange as what else would have i aimed for? Well my aim was to become a SE (Software Engineer) when i finished my 12th. But no further steps were taken on my behalf for that. Only my Dad (thanks a lot for your push on me dad) wanted me to realise the importance of life a bit and he forced me to join a course in NIIT. Well it was 2 years long and when i was in the midst of 6 months after joining i lost half of interest.

When it was 1 year down the line at NIIT, (it was at the end of third year in my engineering), the total interest was almost gone. It was for a new set of subjects and class timings me and my friend SUNDAR K (referred as SUNNY in title) came to gather for the first time. It took atleast 3 months time to get a move along with him closely. He made realise my potential to a great extent.

Sunny is now working as a Programmer in a company called CIRRUS SOFT in the .NET technologies. Actually we had a great time in exploring what the .NET was all about during the next one year of our NIIT study. Good thing to note that, having shown such an interest he has got a job in his line of interest itself, unlike me, who is working in mainframe technologies.

What was so special to mention about him here? will be the questions in your mind. Well the greatness of him is that he could solve all possible problem in a mathematics in a programming way. He is a BSC math grad. One thing i wanted to know is why the BEs are more hyped and needed by the software companies rather than the really talented other grads? well i have opened a gate for discussion and will blog on this matter in my next topic. :-)

Sunny has one more big advantage to his side. He is very interested in one game which due to his request i am not specifying it.
(Sunny i respect your words buddy). The aptitude and attitude which he posesses can be fully owed to that interest he shown in that game. Well he fears if he might get addicted to it in his life. He would also say that i have, to some extent, got him out of that habbit. (how did i? oh, iam known for blabbering thats why)

The sunny days are not over. It is still continuing. We usually discuss about our technical abilities on daily basis over phone. The weekends are for discussions over the new technology and market trends. This doesnt mean that i am tech buff. Believe me, i am a RECIEVER(may be venki can update u all regarding this) and sunny is a TRANSMITTER. Films and music are our weekend hangout places. we usually have time to go to a TEA shop and have all our discussions over there(tea shop owner usually tells that he will put extra charge for having meetings here).

Qualification

As promised in my last blog, i discuss on the qualification needed for software industry in the present world. I disclose at this point of time that it is purely my vision on the industry and nothing to do with pointing against other's opinions. Most of the companies while recruiting freshers only prefer ENGINEERING graduates to any other arts or science grads. I just had to do some sort of analysis before i blogged about it and indeed did some ground work for the same. I contacted some of my college and school friends who are now working in various MNCs as software engineers/programmers/analysts etc... Sunny, My friend, as i said in my previous blog is a Math grad. When a Software company calls for freshers, it is a clear point that they mention "Candidates with excellent academic records and aptitude and attidue are needed". But they still stick to the point that they need only ENGG grads for those posts. If at all they need other grads, they specify the...

Thiruppachi!!!!

Yesterday night show I went to Thiruppachi. Hmmm atleast this time around i didnt feel bored. Definitely this film is better than MADHURA. Hats off to the director for trying something new... oops not the story, but i meant the screenplay. A typical film for Vijay fans. Although i am not a Vijay fan, I admire him. Lots of senti in the film. Looks like ladies will like it for sure. Nothing can come near my God's next movie.... "Chandramukhi".

A Weekend to remember

It was indeed a long weekend for me and a weekend to remember for the rest of my life. I went on a vacation (or rather an extended picnic) to Vizag. My uncle called up my family to join in his house warming and thats all the reason I needed to enjoy a fabulous weekend in and around Vizag. Here are my visits on a daily basis from saturday to Tuesday. Saturday: We went to a place called Simmachalam where Lord Narashimha is famous for, followed by another Sai Seer Mutt. Sunday: It was the house warming day. In the evening we went to Kailasha giri, where lord Shiva and Parvathi's statues are made of white stone and kept in an open place. It is a sort of hangout for the Vizagans and since it is on a hill top, we could have a view of whole Vizag city in the evening with lights. Really worth spending time there and get yourself relaxed. Monday: This was a full day trip planned to go for only 2 places. One is Arukku which is a Hill station (probably like Yercaud, not anywhere ...
