Congrats Kerala

Ya, Kerala are the "Santhosh Trophy" winners for the year 2004. Tell me really how many of us follow football religiously as we do cricket in India? (even I dont do that). After the poor performance of our cricket team with the Aussies, I lost a bit of interest in that game. I was just wondering around 2 P.M. today as to what shall I watch in T.V. Until I had the ESPN and STAR sports connection, I followed EPL and Spanish Liga to some extent. Now for more than a year, we people in chennai are void of those channels. :-)

Only choice we had was to see DD sports. I am very happy to see such a hard fought game for the trophy between Kerala and Punjab. Kerala did it with 3-2 in the extra time. First half started with a bang with Kerala scoring the first one at 7th minute. Then that remained the score till half time.

After the break was the real cruicual game started. Punjab bounced back with 2 goals in quick succession at 3rd and 6th minutes of the second half. They then tried to defend themseleves a lot until an excellent corner from the Keralite toched the goal directly wihtout anyone's help. Score at Full time 2-2. Finally a beautiful goal from the Keralite Skipper saw them through to the trophy.

I am sorry that I am not able to remember any player's name as of now. If I try to follow the local football religiously I would be able to do that. Hoping to see that time in near future... :-)

Qualification

As promised in my last blog, i discuss on the qualification needed for software industry in the present world. I disclose at this point of time that it is purely my vision on the industry and nothing to do with pointing against other's opinions. Most of the companies while recruiting freshers only prefer ENGINEERING graduates to any other arts or science grads. I just had to do some sort of analysis before i blogged about it and indeed did some ground work for the same. I contacted some of my college and school friends who are now working in various MNCs as software engineers/programmers/analysts etc... Sunny, My friend, as i said in my previous blog is a Math grad. When a Software company calls for freshers, it is a clear point that they mention "Candidates with excellent academic records and aptitude and attidue are needed". But they still stick to the point that they need only ENGG grads for those posts. If at all they need other grads, they specify the...

Thiruppachi!!!!

Yesterday night show I went to Thiruppachi. Hmmm atleast this time around i didnt feel bored. Definitely this film is better than MADHURA. Hats off to the director for trying something new... oops not the story, but i meant the screenplay. A typical film for Vijay fans. Although i am not a Vijay fan, I admire him. Lots of senti in the film. Looks like ladies will like it for sure. Nothing can come near my God's next movie.... "Chandramukhi".

A Weekend to remember

It was indeed a long weekend for me and a weekend to remember for the rest of my life. I went on a vacation (or rather an extended picnic) to Vizag. My uncle called up my family to join in his house warming and thats all the reason I needed to enjoy a fabulous weekend in and around Vizag. Here are my visits on a daily basis from saturday to Tuesday. Saturday: We went to a place called Simmachalam where Lord Narashimha is famous for, followed by another Sai Seer Mutt. Sunday: It was the house warming day. In the evening we went to Kailasha giri, where lord Shiva and Parvathi's statues are made of white stone and kept in an open place. It is a sort of hangout for the Vizagans and since it is on a hill top, we could have a view of whole Vizag city in the evening with lights. Really worth spending time there and get yourself relaxed. Monday: This was a full day trip planned to go for only 2 places. One is Arukku which is a Hill station (probably like Yercaud, not anywhere ...
