Team outing to Kuttralam and Kanyakumari - 2

The freshness of the hot drink in early morning remained with us when we got back to the van and started to travel towards Kuttralam. I am not sure how many of my team mates enjoyed the morning drive but I certainly did. The fresh natural air that blew fast from the window near me was truly great feeling. The songs of early to middle 90s by Illayaraja was also played which suited the mood very well.

Just as I was enjoying the drive a lot, I saw a signboard saying Kuttralam was just 5 KMs away. So we were almost there not knowing where to go for lodging. At last we found a cottage to put our luggages and get ourselves ready for the dip in water. When I just went to a shop nearby and enquired about the water levels, the news was not encouraging one. Clearly the message was "No water in any of the falls as you may expect. Only Five Falls (Aintharuvi) has some water falling". That was very disappointing, but it didnt dampen our spirits too much. We had enquired about other possibilities. Last time around when I was here, it was a peak time and water flew very well in all the falls around Kuttralam.

We had our breakfast and started right to the first one called OLD FALLS. Big disappointment, water for name sake was flowing very close to the rocks (the photo is attached above). "Ok, no bathing here", said Bala, "Lets move". We enquired about other places and I already knew that PALARUVI (Milk falls) was one of the options. But the main issue which driver pointed was he didnt have original papers of the van. We started to Five falls which was the only hope. There the water level was decent. We had quite a decent time there bathing. We didnt realize that we are going to have a good news. The Driver said "Sir, RC book appram original papers ellam back la irunthuchu kandupudichiten". That gave the team as such a great spirit and nothing stopped us from directing the bus towards PALARUVI located in Kerala...

Qualification

As promised in my last blog, i discuss on the qualification needed for software industry in the present world. I disclose at this point of time that it is purely my vision on the industry and nothing to do with pointing against other's opinions. Most of the companies while recruiting freshers only prefer ENGINEERING graduates to any other arts or science grads. I just had to do some sort of analysis before i blogged about it and indeed did some ground work for the same. I contacted some of my college and school friends who are now working in various MNCs as software engineers/programmers/analysts etc... Sunny, My friend, as i said in my previous blog is a Math grad. When a Software company calls for freshers, it is a clear point that they mention "Candidates with excellent academic records and aptitude and attidue are needed". But they still stick to the point that they need only ENGG grads for those posts. If at all they need other grads, they specify the...

Thiruppachi!!!!

Yesterday night show I went to Thiruppachi. Hmmm atleast this time around i didnt feel bored. Definitely this film is better than MADHURA. Hats off to the director for trying something new... oops not the story, but i meant the screenplay. A typical film for Vijay fans. Although i am not a Vijay fan, I admire him. Lots of senti in the film. Looks like ladies will like it for sure. Nothing can come near my God's next movie.... "Chandramukhi".

A Weekend to remember

It was indeed a long weekend for me and a weekend to remember for the rest of my life. I went on a vacation (or rather an extended picnic) to Vizag. My uncle called up my family to join in his house warming and thats all the reason I needed to enjoy a fabulous weekend in and around Vizag. Here are my visits on a daily basis from saturday to Tuesday. Saturday: We went to a place called Simmachalam where Lord Narashimha is famous for, followed by another Sai Seer Mutt. Sunday: It was the house warming day. In the evening we went to Kailasha giri, where lord Shiva and Parvathi's statues are made of white stone and kept in an open place. It is a sort of hangout for the Vizagans and since it is on a hill top, we could have a view of whole Vizag city in the evening with lights. Really worth spending time there and get yourself relaxed. Monday: This was a full day trip planned to go for only 2 places. One is Arukku which is a Hill station (probably like Yercaud, not anywhere ...
